DESCRIPTION:
An introduction to nálbinding for complete beginners. Participants will learn the basic techniques of this ancient single-needle textile craft using Oslo stitch and begin a small piece of needlebound fabric. All materials and a nalbinding needle are provided for participants to use during the workshop and take home afterwards.
AIMS OF WORKSHOP:
To introduce participants to the traditional craft of Nálbinding and teach the basic techniques needed to work independently. Participants will learn how to make a starting loop, work Oslo stitch, join new lengths of wool and begin working in the round, giving them the skills and confidence to continue practising at home.

TUTOR’S BACKGROUND:
Beverly is the maker and tutor behind Nálkona, specialising in Nálbinding, and ancient single-needle textile craft. Registered with Heritage Crafts, she is passionate about keeping traditional skills alive, creating contemporary pieces using historic techniques and sharing the craft through relaxed, supportive teaching.
